Musk Gets Subpoena’d…Again
The SEC issued a subpoena to Tesla according to the company’s regulatory filing. The SEC wanted information on the “governance processes around compliance” in relation to the infamous 2018 tweet where Elon Musk tweeted that he would be taking Tesla private.
These were the absolute glory days of Twitter. Then literally a month later, Elon goes on the Joe Rogan podcast and creates one of the most blassic episodes of all time. Not to mention he casually smoked weed with Rogan on the live stream. What a time to be alive.
Musk also was subject to SEC intervention in 2020 when he infamously tweeted that “Tesla stock price is too high imo”
According to Tesla’s 2020 10-K filing, The SEC alleges that Musk had breached fiduciary responsibilities as a result of his tweet. Nothing ever seemed to happen as a result of this, which just adds to the mayhem. This man simply operates with a sense of reckless abandon.
Elon has a way of finessing just about every governmental institution in existence, from the SEC to the DOJ. This man skirts legality while singlehandedly saving the planet. You have to respect that.
